Since its creation in 1982, CINDE has promoted FDI in strategic sectors such as Smart Manufacturing, Knowledge-Intensive Services, and Health & Wellbeing, to generate employment and greater opportunities for its most valuable asset: its people; with the goal of contributing to the social and economic development of Costa Rica. Around 4,400 different products like medical devices, electronics, metal mechanics, and 350 food varieties are exported from Costa Rica to 155 destination countries. In addition, over 100 different business processes such as software development, engineering, design, analytics, AI, supply chain, and global services are delivered from Costa Rica in more than 12 languages.
For almost 40 years, CINDE has advised and guided over 330 high-tech companies to establish in the country, becoming the right partner to reach sustainable productivity and drive investment with a purpose.
The multinational companies established in the sectors of smart manufacturing, knowledge-intensive services and health & wellbeing have generated over 140,000 direct and around 70,000 indirect jobs to date (2020), thanks to CINDE's support and according to data from the Costa Rican Social Security (C.C.S.S by its Spanish acronym).
