Company plans to grow to 150 employees in next three months
Bacardi will recruit from professional and technical colleges to fill open positions

San José, Costa Rica, March 11, 2015 — Family-owned Bacardi, the largest privately held spirits company in the world, today unveiled its new global shared services center in Costa Rica. The 1,600 square meters (17,222 square feet) facility, based in the canton of Escazú in the province of San José, is now home to skilled professionals performing a variety of professional and technical financial support functions including Accounts Payable, Inventory Management, General Accounting, and Reporting, among other services.
Attended by Minister of Foreign Trade for Costa Rica Alexander Mora; General Director of Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE) Jorge Sequeira; Senior Vice President of Bacardi Business Solutions, Continuous Improvement and Projects Kerry Carr; Assistant Vice President for Bacardi Business Solutions Jorge L. Rodriguez; and other VIPs and dignitaries, the inauguration ceremony officially opened the business and showcased the state-of-the-art Bacardi office space occupying the fifth floor of 101 Avenida Escazu.
Minister Mora was very pleased with what he considered to be a milestone in the development of this important endeavor. "We are deeply honored that Bacardi has chosen Costa Rica as a center for its shared services operation. They recognized the enormous value that as a nation we offer investment and the strong commitment we maintain to continue promoting, with dedication and perseverance, actions that contribute to improve every day our conditions for companies to produce and grow. I give you a warm welcome and we predict success in what we trust will be a long association of mutual benefit to Bacardi and Costa Rica,” said Minister Mora.

“Bacardi is a clear example of how companies see Costa Rica as a strategic partner, thanks to the quality of talent. In 2014 alone, 18 investment projects in the services sector generated 3,500 quality jobs and we are confident that this year we will attract other companies interested in such as investment,” added Jorge Sequeira, Director General of CINDE. Bacardi adds to the list of more than 140 companies in the services sector in Costa Rica.
South Africa, Germany, United States, among others, are the destinations of origin of most investment projects in the services sector who settled in the country during 2014. This strategic sector employs a total of more than 50,000 Costa Ricans, according CINDE figures.
The office features work stations, a classroom style training room, plus a kitchen and dining room. The Bacardi office is decorated in a way that celebrates the Company’s premium spirits brands including BACARDÍ® rum, GREY GOOSE® vodka and DEWAR’S® Blended Scotch whisky, as well as its 153 year heritage and founding in Santiago de Cuba. The central design theme of the office is “El Coco,” a coconut palm tree planted at the first Bacardi distillery in 1862, and subsequent Bacardi facilities around the world. The Costa Rica office prominently displays the original “El Coco” via a photograph taken in the 1880s encompassing one full wall of the center.
Bacardi plans to increase its employees to 150 in the next three months which will be looking university and technical professionals who perform administrative work in accounts payable, inventory management, general accounts and reports, as well as other services.

Opportunities include various accounting and financial positions in all levels from supervisors and managers to accountants and clerks. Language requirements are those fluent in in English and Spanish, Portuguese or French.
The Bacardi shared services center function has been operating in Costa Rica as of September 1, 2014. The Bacardi office is located in the first lifestyle center in Costa Rica to combine work, live, shop and leisure concepts in the same place. The building was awarded first place for Best Master Plan in the Biennale of Architecture in 2006.
The operation is managed under Bacardi Soluciones Corporativas S.A., a subsidiary of Bacardi Limited, based in Hamilton, Bermuda.
