San Jose, June 26 2015. The multinational company Cargill opened its Cargill Business Services (CBS) center in Costa Rica. This business unit will provide services to the Americas in the areas of Finance and Human Resources, and in the future it will add services in information technology, strategic sourcing, transportation and logistics.
Cargill decided to accelerate its adoption of shared services for their global businesses to have increased focus on customers, innovation and competition.
The President of the Republic, Luis Guillermo Solis, said "Cargill CBS honors Costa Rica to trust the national talent to carry out its new services project. We hope that in the coming months the company will give us more good news that benefit more Costa Ricans by providing quality jobs. "

Costa Rica was elected for the installation of the shared services center mainly because it is close to the business of the company and its workforce is of very high quality. Cargill has been operating in Costa Rica since 1999, acquiring the processed meats company Cinta Azul, and tripling in size in 2011 with the acquisition of Pipasa.
Today, with three business units, Cargill Animal Nutrition, Cargill Meats Central America and Cargill Business Services (CBS), their locations employ more than 4,500 people in the country.
