Costa Rica, Ranked Among the Best Destinations for Digital Nomads and Expats
- Forbes Magazine and Bloomberg highlight these results in two articles.
- The rankings are according to the InterNations Expat Insider 2021 Survey and a report by InsureMyTrip.
May 20, 2021. Costa Rica is once again among the top destinations to live and work abroad in 2021 based on the quality of life, ease to settle in, and cost of living. So confirms two different surveys highlighted recently by Forbes Magazine and Bloomberg.
Bloomberg reviews the InterNations Expat Insider 2021 Survey that ranks Costa Rica as the third top spot to live and work after Taiwan and Mexico.
“Some 85% of respondents said it was easy to get settled down in Mexico, while 91% of expats described Costa Rica’s population as “generally friendly.” Four in five expats in Mexico said they were satisfied with their financial situations, and 84% of expats in Costa Rica said their disposable household income was “enough or more than enough” to cover all their expenses,” says Bloomberg’s article titled "These Are the Places Ranked Best for Expats in 2021".

Forbes Magazine reveals a study from InsureMyTrip which puts Costa Rica in the seventh best place to live for digital nomads:

According to Forbes’ the study analyzed seven key categories: “internet access and speed, apartment rental costs, language difficulty, openness to digital nomads, cost and access to a work visa and length of the remote working visa.”
