SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, October 21, 2015 - Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) announced today it will open a new Shared Service Center in Costa Rica to support its rapidly growing Latin America business. To support the new facility, the company has started the hiring process for more than 120 positions.
The Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora, said that "Ingram Micro's announcement reaffirms the confidence that the company has in Costa Rica and its general conditions and in its human resources, undoubtedly the main national asset. Knowing the reputation of the company, this announcement is a source of great pride and satisfaction, as it broadens employment opportunities in many fields for the Costa Rican professionals and strengthens the country as the main hub for the provision of corporate services in our region".
“Ingram Micro has a long history of strong growth and profitability in Latin America,” said Jeff Aldaz, vice president of Global Shared Services for Ingram Micro. “This is a region of focus for us and we expect these trends to continue. The Managing Director of CINDE, Jorge Sequeira, said "The new services operation of Ingram Micro is a reflection of the consolidation that this sector has had in the country in the last years. The company relied once again in Costa Rica to meet its financial operations and technical support thanks to the proven ability of our human talent".
Ingram Micro also noted that this new investment is due to the opportunities offered by Costa Rica, thanks to the education level of its human talent and the contribution it provides to business needs, plus the consolidated experience that the country has shown, throughout the years, in the operation of shared service centers.
“Our plan is to leverage our Shared Service Center in Costa Rica and further build on the foundation to support the regional growth.” Aldaz added Ingram Micro’s new Shared Service Center will initially support Ingram Micro customers and partners in countries including the USA, Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
