PandG Allocates Funds to Help 10,000 People during the COVID-19 Emergency in Costa Rica
San Jose, April 3, 2020. In solidarity with the country’s COVID-19 outbreak, the multinational firm Pandamp;G has implemented aid measures for 10,000 people in Costa Rica.
“From the start of the emergency, we have been in contact with government agencies and associated NGOs to find a way to help contain the outbreak,” commented Fernando Calderón, Communications and Government Affairs Manager for Pandamp;G Costa Rica.
For example, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Education, Pandamp;G has donated hygiene and cleaning supplies to the student cafeterias of 500 schools.
It has also made donations to Red Cross staff to help them obtain disposable personal care supplies.
In addition, through the Federación Cruzada Nacional de Protección al Anciano, Pandamp;G has provided financial aid to the Food Bank, collaborated with several homes for the elderly by providing cleaning and laundering supplies, and channeled donations of basic necessity kits to families affected by the emergency.
Finally, through the social responsibility program Clean Water for Children, Pandamp;G has provided the water company (Aandamp;A) and the Ministry of Health with a not-for-profit technology for purifying water in needy communities.
Pandamp;G is also maintaining its regular operation in Costa Rica, implementing prevention measures among its employees and periodically sanitizing its facilities in addition to following the work from home protocols established by the authorities – all of which is part of its commitment to maintaining the income of thousands of Costa Ricans in the midst of the emergency. 90% or more of its employees are working from home.
At present, Pandamp;G has more than 1,500 Costa Rican employees working in Costa Rica, distributed into three highly strategic service operations with great value-added: Financial Services Center for the Americas, IT Business Transformation Center for the Americas, and Supply Chain Planning Center for Latin America.
