The Multilingual CINDE Job Fair Has Wrapped, with Participation from Nearly 8,000 People
San José, Costa Rica. April 7, 2024. The most renowned multilingual job fair in the country, organized by CINDE, has successfully concluded its 17th edition after three days of events at the Antigua Aduana.
CINDE, an expert organization in attracting foreign investment, recorded the attendance of nearly 8,000 people who completed their profiles on the
www.cindejobs.com platform and attended the Antigua Aduana-headquartered event in person to apply for a job opening.
The 42 participating multinational companies belong to the sectors of services, digital technologies, manufacturing, and life sciences, which conducted their search for profiles in areas including human resources, floor operators, manufacturing, customer service, accounting and finance, engineering, software development, quality, data management, project management, administration, design and communications, and sales, among others.
"We close on another edition of the CINDE multilingual fair, satisfied with having connected thousands of people directly with leading multinational companies established in Costa Rica. Over the event's three days, we received constant feedback from participating companies regarding the quality of talent and notable improvements in English and/or other language proficiency, in such a way that these companies could advance their hiring processes on-site by successfully conducting job interviews and making formal hiring proposals," stated Marianela Urgellés, Managing Director of CINDE.
"I arrived at the fair around noon on Friday; the process was super quick. I am very grateful because I had been unemployed for 6 months and this experience allowed me to learn about new companies and see the number of opportunities they offer to everyone. I saw testimonials from other people who had been hired in previous years but I didn't expect it, I saw it as very distant possibility, and now I have a job," said Susana Meoño, a participant hired at the fair.
Among the new features implemented by CINDE for this edition was the application of the
PDA test, which allowed candidates to identify and enhance their soft/essential skills to both develop their professional profile and interact with stands during the fair.
Additionally, thanks to the Talk2CINDEJobs initiative – a support and guidance stand for unemployed individuals – CINDE provided advice to over 500 people with the help of volunteers from participating companies, through mentorship, active listening, recommendations on best practices, résumé building, and professional networking, among others.
In the 2024 in-person edition of CINDE's multilingual fair, 7,351 English proficiency tests were conducted, revealing that 76% of individuals demonstrated intermediate to advanced proficiency in the language (B2 to C2 level).
"We conclude another edition of the fair very pleased with the results of the BELT tests obtained by the candidates. On this occasion, the vast majority of attendees demonstrated advanced levels of English proficiency that companies are seeking. Furthermore, participating companies expressed their satisfaction not only with the overall level of the fair but also with the efficiency and accuracy that our BELT test brought to their hiring processes," stated Brian Logan, General Manager of
Idioma Internacional.
