San Jose, Costa Rica, April 21, 2022 – ModSquad, the global digital engagement services company and leader in remote customer experience, formally announced the opening of its Latin American business and operations center in San José, Costa Rica.
After a thorough evaluation process, the company selected Costa Rica over Mexico, Colombia, Panama and other Latin American countries for its ideal mix of economic strength, skilled and educated talent pool, and business-friendly environment. ModSquad already has 45 employees in Costa Rica, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has delayed launching its onsite center until now.
“Costa Rica is an outstanding choice for us because it is a place where our culture thrives,” said Amy Pritchard, Chief Executive Officer of ModSquad. “We are very measured and selective in our business expansion to ensure we are always hiring world-class professionals. Costa Rica has a culture that embraces
innovation and cultivates the knowledge-worker economy. That’s an ideal recipe for supporting our global Mod community and providing best-in-class services to our clients.”
ModSquad plans to have over 200 employees in Costa Rica by the end of 2024, including personnel in client services, people operations, technology and accounting. Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply particularly those with fluency in French, German, Portuguese, and Chinese in addition to Spanish and English.
Andrés Valenciano, the Minister of Foreign Trade, stated, “In recent years, the
Services Sector has helped us diversify our export offering, thus making Costa Rica more resilient to the ups and downs of the world economy. As a result, as of the third quarter of 2021, this sector, which includes knowledge-intensive services such as business, ICT, and transformation services, had demonstrated 6% growth, for a total of $6.451 billion – $369 million over the same period in 2020.”
In addition, he stressed that, “The
digital technology industry continues to grow and today, we celebrate ModSquad’s addition to the group of companies that have found, in Costa Rica, ideal conditions for establishing operations. We trust that this milestone will mark the beginning of great opportunities for both the company and our country.”
Since 2007, the world’s best brands have turned to ModSquad for customer experience services delivered by thousands of remote-working “Mods” via the company’s Cubeless® security platform. These teams of independent content moderators, customer support agents, community managers and social media specialists are supported by hundreds of ModSquad employees in the United States, United Kingdom and now Costa Rica.
Jorge Sequeira, the Managing Director of
CINDE, also expressed his appreciation to ModSquad for choosing Costa Rica as its first Latin American base of operations. He commented, "We are leaders in the indexes for our entire region, and we are even #1 for digital skills, according to what the World Economic Forum has said. We trust that, together with Costa Rican talent, top mechanisms will be created to serve ModSquad clients around the world, rooted in an innovative environment of the highest quality and which, consequently, will contribute to promoting
knowledge-based services, which accounted for 71% of our total service exports in 2021."
ModSquad’s new Latin American business and operations center is located in The Train Business Hub in Santa Ana, San José, Costa Rica.
